Malawi National Police Service, Mozambique National Police Service and Zambia National Police Service, September 2010 Police officers from Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia came to Canada for Kinsa Training and to discuss Kinsa’s ongoing efforts to build capacity in Africa. “The development and speed at which the Internet is growing has developed quickly. Child pornography has evolved to the point where a number of people have become experts with computers and they’re downloading these materials," said Alfred Nawa, assistant commissioner for the Zambia Police Service. "We as police officers don’t have the materials to track them, and we’re afraid this is going to grow bigger. The Kinsa training that we have received will allow us to help us fight this problem with cutting edge solutions and I look forward to implementing these techniques in Zambia.” South African Police Service, June 2010 Senior police officers from South African Police Service and prosecutors from National Prosecuting Authority's Sexual Offenses and Community Affairs Unit came to Canada for Kinsa training and to discuss Kinsa’s ongoing efforts to build capacity in South Africa.
“We have learned so much. We cannot wait to share this information with the National Police Commissioner. We really want to put what we have learned into practice. We are in the process of re-establishing the Family Violence and Child Protection Units and Parliament has given us until March 31st, 2011 to make sure the Units are fully operational, so our visit to Canada for Kinsa training comes at just the right time for us to make sure that our police officers are properly trained in this aspect of policing”.
