Kinsa launches Virtually Safe series of videos
Intended to help parents and educators better understand what children are doing on the Internet, these five videos (instant messaging, social networking, online gaming, virtual worlds and more tips), developed with support of the Ministry of Education and available on YouTube, address common ways that kids access the Internet and dangers they may encounter.
2008 – Kinsa launches SurfSmart and Web of Deception The SurfSmart series of 10 guiding principles on Internet safety and how to communicate about this with kids, is reinforced in the Web of Deception. This cyber safety comic is distributed (in English and French versions) to 400,000 school children across Canada through POP! magazine. The 14-page comic, developed with children's entertainment production company Nelvana, features characters from the hit YTV show, Grossology/Glurp Attack. The comic, takes kids on an exciting adventure into underworld of crime (and slime!) while reinforcing Kinsa’s Surf Smart™ principles. Includes teacher lesson plans and family discussion guides.
