Get Involved

Mandatory reporting of child abuse images

Get Involved: Contact your MP to encourage him/her to support the new legislation that requires ISPs to report illegal child sexual abuse images on the Internet to the police.  Click here to download a template letter to send to your MP.

Improved Accountability with Mobile Applications

Get Involved: Contact your MP to encourage him/her to introduce/support new legislation that requires ISPs to log IP addresses assigned to mobile devices, and share these IP addresses with law enforcement when necessary for online investigations. Click here to download a template letter to send to your MP.

Wireless Networks

Get Involved: Contact your MP to encourage him/her to introduce/support new legislation that requires providers of free public Internet access to ask for user identification prior to using the Internet.  Furthermore, law enforcement should be given access to this information when necessary for online investigations.  Click here to download a template letter to send to your MP.

The problem of unsecured private networks can be addressed, in part, through public education.  Creators of private wireless networks need to understand the vulnerabilities associated with remaining unsecure.  Talk to friends and neighbours, and spread the message about the potential risks of unsecured networks.  And make sure your own network is secure.

Child-to-child Exploitation

Get Involved: Part of the response is effectively educating children about the risk associated with these types of behaviours.  A range of messaging is required: age specific messaging for children at different stages of development, behaviour specific messaging, and parent or caregiver directed messaging. Click here to download discussion questions and topics for parents to talk to their children about.
