Vivien Thomas
Intake Worker, Children's Aid Society of Toronto

Vivien Thomas works with the Children's Aid Society of Toronto (CAST) and has for 20 years. As an intake worker she investigates child maltreatment and abuse concerns. Vivien's commitment to the field of child protection is evident to everyone who has worked with her. She is one of a few select workers at CAST who has developed skills and knowledge in the area of child exploitation and child welfare.

Her expertise is valued by clients and professionals alike and she is seen to be a leader in this emotionally difficult area of child protection. Her ability to remain focused on the task at hand while acknowledging the emotional and traumatic impact of child exploitation is exemplary and
makes her to stand out in this field. Her particular brand of humour, positive outlook and warmth puts people at ease and helps to make this very difficult work a little less difficult.
