Anders Persson
Founder of the Interpol Specialist Group on Crimes Against Children

Anders, a Swedish Police Officer since 1974, was seconded to work in the Child Abuse Unit where he created the Swedish National Database of child abuse material.  Anders was seconded to Interpol in 2001 to expand his work to suit the Global need and collect material on behalf of the 186 Interpol member countries.  Anders also formed the Interpol Specialist Group on Crimes Against Children to coordinate a global victim identification response.  When Anders started the Interpol database, there were only 33 victims of Internet Child Exploitation rescued from abuse around the world.  Thanks to Ander’s perseverance, over 1,000 children from around the world have now been identified and rescued.
