Scott NewarkFormer Vice Chair, Ontario Office for Victims of Crime
A long-time victims' rights advocate, Scott established the Canadian Resource Centre for Victims of Crime in Ottawa in 1993. Prior to this, he spent twelve years as a Crown prosecutor in Alberta. In 2002, when he was Special Counsel for the Ontario Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) and was the driving force behind the Toronto Police Child Exploitation Section receiving $2M in funding from the Victims Justice Fund for training, equipment, additional staff and a much need criminal analyst, thus allowing the unit to succeed and become what it is today.
